Reimagining maternal health, because every mother matters.

Motherlines Foundation is a public health non-profit committed to creating a future where every Australian woman—regardless of income, geography, or background—has access to the resources needed for a healthy pregnancy. By addressing health inequities through culturally aligned education and free prenatal supplements, we’re empowering women, strengthening communities, and ensuring brighter starts for the next generation.

Motherlines Foundation is DGR-registered charity that is on a mission to reimagine access to healthcare and wellbeing for all pregnant Australian women regardless of income, geography, or cultural background.

THE PROBLEM

The optimal nutritional status of mothers has been identified as the most important non-genetic factor for the healthy development of foetuses.¹

Maternal malnutrition leads to adverse pregnancy outcomes and can have a long-term negative effect on growth and development during childhood and increases the risks of developing chronic diseases later in life.¹

There is currently no public health intervention providing prenatal multivitamins to pregnant Australian women holding a concession card.

Every disparity in society shows up in maternal health and maternity outcomes. Babies born to low socio-economic mothers are 60% more likely to be born with a low birth weight (AIHW, 2018) and suffer long-term health impacts as a result.

25% of pregnant Australian women aren't taking the pregnancy vitamins they need because they're too expensive.¹¹

OUR SOLUTION

Motherlines Foundation is a DGR-registered charity that is working to help underserved Australian pregnant women gain access to essential evidence-based prenatal vitamins by removing the financial barriers to access. Our prenatal pilot-program provides 10 months of essential prenatal multivitamins to pregnant Australian women holding a concession card.

Motherlines Foundation is deeply aligned with the mission of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which emphasise health equity, nutritional access, and the empowerment of underserved populations. Specifically:

SDG 2: Zero Hunger highlights the importance of ending malnutrition and ensuring access to nutritious food, addressing the "hidden hunger" caused by micronutrient deficiencies.

SDG 3: promoting Health and well-being for all at all ages directly relates to improving maternal and infant health outcomes by providing essential prenatal supplements, reducing preventable complications, and supporting long-term health.

SDG 5: Gender Equality is reflected in the charity's focus on empowering women, acknowledging the critical role maternal health plays in fostering stronger families and communities.

SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities is foundational, as the initiative addresses systemic barriers faced by low-SES Australian women, promoting equitable access to health resources.

Profits with Purpose: Our for-profit partner, Land Lab, has created a high-quality evidence-based prenatal supplement that is retailed to the general public. A significant portion of the profits from these sales is donated directly to Motherlines Foundation, turning every purchase into a force for good. Alongside these contributions, Motherlines Foundation relies on additional support from private philanthropic donations and grants to amplify our efforts and reach more women in need.

Motherlines Foundation uses these combined funds to subsidise the cost of prenatal multivitamins for underserved Australian women holding a concession card, removing financial barriers to critical maternal nutrition.
